After being temporarily sent to an orphanage, young Robert finds an unexpected friendship with Julia, an orphan girl growing up under the care of a devoted nun. When Robert is able to return home, the two children are separated and their lives take different paths. Years later, fate brings them together again, bringing their past back to life and revealing that some bonds can endure distance, change, and time. Purple Orchid is a heartfelt story of childhood friendship, separation, and the quiet connections that stay with us long after we part.
“With Purple Orchid, I wanted to capture the innocence of childhood, the pain of separation, and the enduring power of human connection—reminding us that some bonds remain unbroken, no matter where life takes us.” — Shelly Meme Lwin, Director, Purple Orchid
